Samuel Jay Levine

Samuel Jay LevineSamuel Jay Levine, the senior partner of Levine & Associates, has more than 37 years of experience in U.S. immigration and international business law. He is a member of the District of Columbia Bar since 1973, the Bar Association of the District of Columbia, the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the Inter-American Bar Association, and the World Jurist Association.

After graduating from the University of Rochester in 1969, Mr. Levine attended Syracuse University College of Law, where he received a Juris Doctor (JD) degree with an academic award in 1972. To enhance his understanding of international law, he has also completed advanced legal coursework in the Netherlands and in Israel.

He clerked for the Hon. John Garrett Penn, then at the Superior Court of the District of Columbia in 1973-74. He later returned to Syracuse University to teach immigration law and international law as an adjunct professor.

Mr. Levine is listed by the Martindale-Hubbell Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers and in the National Directory of Who's Who in Executives and Professionals.

Author and editor of many articles on immigration law, Mr. Levine has also:

  • Discussed immigration law on television on many international programs
  • Wrote and announced exclusively in the video Business and Professional Nonimmigrant Visas to America, produced by U.S. Visa Enterprises™
  • Participated as a panel chair and/or presenter at the World Jurist Conventions in Montreal, Canada; Doha, Qatar; Vienna, Austria; Beijing, China; Havana, Cuba; Warsaw, Poland; and Amsterdam, the Netherlands
    • Presented a paper on U.S. immigration law at Jaegiellonian University (in cooperation with The Catholic University of America, College of Law) in Krakow, Poland, 1997
  • Acted as keynote speaker at an Immigration Conference at the University of the West in Timisuara, Romania, 2005
  • Conducted seminars on immigration law in the United States and 10 other countries
  • Testified as an expert witness on U.S. immigration law before courts in Chile, Brazil, the United Kingdom, the Dominican Republic, Hong Kong, Colombia, Ecuador, Pakistan, and India.

Mr. Levine is a born traveler who has spent time in more than 156 countries. He is fluent in Spanish and can converse in additional languages. His sensitivity to cultural differences enables him to work comfortably and productively with people from all over the world.
